THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN release a digital-only EP Plagiarism today, June 13th.

The EP features ?Unretrofied? (from their acclaimed Miss Machine CD), interpretations of NINE INCH NAILS?s ?Wish?, MASSIVE ATTACK?s ?Angel?, SOUNDGARDEN?s ?Jesus Christ Pose? and Justin Timberlake?s ?Like I Love You? as well as previously unreleased live material. Many of these covers have been heard during the band?s live sets over the past several years but remained unrecorded until this EP. Plagiarism is available exclusively via iTunes here.

On June 27th the band will release Miss Machine: The DVD in North America (with an international release on July 3rd). This low-priced limited edition DVD features a collection of behind-the-scenes footage, all the studio videos from Miss Machine and live clips spanning the ensuing worldwide tour.

Also, starting today, Tuesday June 13th, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN will play as direct support to AFI during the first leg of their December Underground Tour. In addition to their dates with AFI, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN will be doing several headlining shows with label mates DYSRHYTHMIA in tow and will round the tour out by providing support for COHEED AND CAMBRIA in the mid-west.

Legendary metal giants SUFFOCATION have begun recording their new album.

The self-titled new album is being recorded at Full Force Studios in Long Island, NY. Suffocation is the follow-up to 2004's Souls To Deny and will see a September 2006 release.

ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY has announced the addition of vocalist Kyle Thomas (ex- EXHORDER / FLOODGATE) to its lineup.

ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY has been writing for the new record since last July with the music for 14 songs already completed. Seminal instrumental band DON CABALLERO see the North American release of World Class Listening Problem, its newest record and first in almost five years, today (Tuesday May 16th).

World Class Listening Problem marks the first recorded work by the band's new incarnation (founder and drummer extraordinaire Damon Che, bassist Jason Jouver, and guitarists Gene Doyle and Jeff Ellsworth) and is set for release outside North America on May 22nd.

The ten song effort was recorded by the band?s longtime producer Al Sutton (THE LAUGHING HYENAS, BIG CHIEF) at Sutton's Rustbelt Studios and mastered by Alan Douches (THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, MASTODON) at West West Side Studios. Veteran ATHEIST guitarist Rand Burkey has been forced to bow out of the band?s forthcoming festival performances due to legal troubles.

Filling in for Burkey will be veteran guitarist Chris Baker. Baker will be joining core ATHEIST members Kelly Shaefer, Tony Choy, and Steve Flynn as well as guitarist Sonny Carson (who will be playing Shaefer's guitar role due to Shaefer's long-running battles w/ tendonitis and carpal tunnel.) Baker and Carson are currently playing with Steve Flynn's new band GNOSTIC.

"In fine ATHEIST tradition we've been dealt another set of obstacles to overcome. These new problems have made these upcoming shows come very close to not happening but Chris is an extraordinary player, and has done a great job on the very difficult task of dissecting and learning Rand's guitar parts" says Shaefer. "Not having Rand be able to take part is a disappointment to us, but we have always honored our band commitments, even in the face of unbelievable odds, and this will be no exception. We've been playing these songs for months now, they are sounding great! We simply cannot wait to get it on!."

DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN bassist Liam Wilson has been nominated by PETA2 in their second annual "World?s Sexiest Vegetarian" poll.

Sweden's DISFEAR are set to kick off their North American headlining tour with a pre-tour celebration in conjunction with Relapse Records, the Philly Roller Girls and R5 Productions this Thursday May 11th at Manny Brown?s (512 South Street) in Philadelphia, PA. DISFEAR will be hanging out all night long during this event that will run from 8:00 pm to 12 midnight EST and feature a raffle to help raise funds for the Relapse Records sponsored Philly Roller Girls derby team, The Heavy Metal Hookers, where attendees will have a chance to win DISFEAR and Relapse Records merchandise, concert tickets and more. Renowned drummer John Longstreth has rejoined ORIGIN, the cult technical death metal band he played and recorded with over the band?s first two albums (Informis, Infinitas, Inhumanitas and Origin).

ORIGIN will hit the road for an extensive US tour that will last through the better part of the summer. The tour will begin on July 19 in Oklahoma City and circle the US before concluding on August 26. This is the band?s first headlining tour backing their latest release, Echoes of Decimation. THE COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINERS (TCME) are a collection of real-life pathologists with an unhealthy adoration of and fixation on CARCASS. Formed by Dr. Morton Fairbanks M.D. (Guitar) and Dr. Jack Putnam M.D. (Drums), the band--rounded out by 63-year-old Dr. Guy Radcliffe--have always felt that the label "Carcass Clone" should be a badge of honor and distinction, and pursue that emulation with an almost religious zeal.

THE COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINERS is currently nearing completion of its next full-length record Olidous Operettas (the band's first recorded discharge in three years). Olidous Operettas is scheduled for a fall release.

Comedian/Actor Brian Posehn has inked a deal with Relapse Records to release his debut stand-up CD 'Live In: Nerd Rage' internationally.

Brian Posehn is a funny man who has been in lots of funny stuff and known to many as "that one guy from TV". But if you pay attention to what you watch you might know him best as Kevin, the weirdo mail boy from Just Shoot Me or any of his other guest appearances on sitcoms (Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, Bernie, Mac, The Showbiz Show with David Spade) and in movies (The Wedding Singer, Run Ronnie Run, Dumb and Dumberer, The Devil's Rejects). Most notably though, you know him as part of the creative core of HBO's legendary, Emmy-nominated Mr. Show, his Comedy Central special, and from the critically-acclaimed Comedians of Comedy Tour which aired on Showtime and is available through Netflix.

Posehn's 'Live In: Nerd Rage' reveals the hilarious observations of a self-professed nerd and life-long fan of heavy metal. At times personal, nasty, dry, and absurd but always funny, Brian muses on being a teenage heavy metal fan, marriage, his dog Ernie, high-school reunions, body 'parts' and getting revenge on childhood tormentors. Recorded as part of Brian's appearances on the Comedians of Comedy tour, and including a sketch with Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show), 'Live In: Nerd Rage' is Brian at his funniest and will have everyone who hears it seeing the world through a totally different set of eyes.

Not just a mere stand-up cd however, 'Live In: Nerd Rage' also incorporates two of Brian's other life-long loves; comic books and heavy metal.

'Live In: Nerd Rage' features two musical cuts; one by Brian's heavy metal band POSEHN and another by TITANNICA. POSEHN's lineup reads like of a who's who of the hard rock elite; featuring Scott Ian [ANTHRAX, SOD] on guitar, Joey Vera [ARMORED SAINT, FATES WARNING] on bass, John Tempesta [WHITE ZOMBIE, THE CULT, TESTAMENT] on drums and guest lead solos from Jonathan Donais [SHADOWS FALL] and Russ Parrish (National Lampoon's Metal Skool) with Brian himself on vocals. POSEHN slays with the soon-to-be-legendary original track "Metal By Numbers" while TITANNICA [the metal band from the beloved Mr. Show sketch] delivers their epic track "Try Again, Again".

Additionally, the record features artwork by noted comic artist Mike Avon-Oeming (Powers, Bastard Samurai, Hammer of the Gods) with colors by Peter Pantazis (Powers, Common Grounds). This fact is made all-the-more relevant as Brian launches "Last Christmas", a comic book co-written by Posehn and Gerry Duggan depicting Santa's adventures battling mutants in a post-apocalyptic landscape, through Image Comics on May 24.

'Live In: Nerd Rage' will be released on July 11th in North America, with an international release to follow in August.

Prior to the release of 'Live In: Nerd Rage', Brian will be doing stand-up as part of the fifth leg of the Comedians of Comedy Tour. The tour, named "The Best Thing To Happen To Stand Up Comedy in 2005" by Time Out New York, will be comprised of a week of dates in the Midwest and include appearances by Patton Oswalt, Maria Bamford, and Eugene Mirman in addition to Brian.

BIRDS OF PREY has inked a deal with Relapse Records to release its debut album, Weight of the Wound.

BIRDS OF PREY is a studio project featuring the creative collective of Erik Larson (ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY) and Bo Leslie (THE LAST VAN ZANT / ex-THROTTLEROD) on guitars, Summer Welch (BARONESS) on bass, Dave Witte (BURNT BY THE SUN, MUNICIPAL WASTE) on drums and Ben Hogg (BEATEN BACK TO PURE) on vocals. The quintet holed up at the Karma Productions studio in Richmond, VA with Cory Smoot (aka Flatus Maximus of GWAR) this past December to record Weight of the Wound.

Leslie comments; "Excited" isn't a very kvlt, true, or metal thing to say, but I'm excited to be a part of the Birds Of Prey and I am waaaaaayyy into "Weight Of The Wound" being a Relapse release. We set out with the intentions of writing and recording an "old school" type record and this is what came out. Hope y'all dig it, and to quote MORRIAH, let the sword descend.

ZOMBI has issued an internet-only live EP culled from its recent SXSW performance. The EP, simply titled Live at SXSW was recorded at the Sony Connect ?Vice Kills Texas II? SXSW party on Thursday, March 16th and features ?Digitalis? (from their upcoming record Surface To Air), ?Orion? (from their debut album Cosmos) and an as-yet-unrecorded improvised track ?Infinity?. This EP is available now at this location, exclusively via the Connect website.

ZOMBI has also unveiled an e-card for Surface To Air that features the studio audio for 'Digitalis' and the track 'Legacy'. The Surface To Air e-card can be accessed at this location. Surface To Air was recorded, mixed and mastered by the band (Steve Moore: bass/synth, A.E. Paterra: drums) over a five month span at the duo's Nightmare City Mobile Studios and is expected to see a May 2 North American release date (June 5 internationally).

In support of Surface To Air, ZOMBI has announced plans to tour with ISIS this spring. The tour with ISIS will begin on March 28th and extend into May and also include dates with Dalek and These Arms Are Snakes. Cult New York metal band UNEARTHLY TRANCE have announced a spring tour with Lair of the Minotaur in support of their upcoming Relapse debut release The Trident.

The tour will begin on April 15 in Bowling Green, OH and make its way throughout the east coast before concluding on April 29. Prior to this tour, UNEARTHLY TRANCE will perform a handful of headlining shows and appear at the MacRock festival in Harrisonburg, VA with the likes of Municipal Waste, Baroness, Rosetta, The Dream is Dead and many more.
